CICL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2024 AND ELECTION RESULTS

25 October 2024

Dear Members

The results of the 2024 Member Director postal ballot were announced today.

Annabel Burge was elected, and Peter Sheppard was re-elected, with their three-year terms commencing at the conclusion of the AGM.

I thank Annabel and Ryan McGoldrick for nominating to join the CICL Board, the interest and willingness of members to nominate is positive for CICL and the region. Renewal of our board is important to ensuring our continued effectiveness and resilience.

The contribution of retiring director Anthony Mannes was acknowledged. Anthony completed three terms, and his contributions have always been thoughtful and considered. Anthony brought to our board a diverse commercial background which has been valued.

Members also approved the appointment of Suzanne Murray, independent director. Suzanne commenced as a director in March this year, filling the casual vacancy created by the resignation of Bruce Brown. Suzanne is an experienced director and executive who has already made constructive contributions to our board.

Peter Sheppard used his chair’s address to reflect on the achievements of CICL since its formation twenty-five years ago. These include the improvements in water delivery efficiency and service, below CPI stable water charges, adding value to delivery entitlements, member benefit and member offers of additional water.

Peter announced to members the change in leadership of CICL. I have been elected chair and Denise Kelly is deputy chair. I acknowledge Peter’s outstanding contribution and leadership to both the CICL Board but also the Mutual. I look forward to Peter’s continued involvement as a member director, including his on-going involvement in external issues as a director of NSWIC and as the chair of the WaterNSW Murrumbidgee Customer Advisory Group.

Listening to our achievements since formation it is obvious the work and foresight of former directors laid the foundations of the cooperative and services we provide today. I believe CICL is well placed to continue to make sound decisions in the interests of the co-operative and members with dedicated directors, management team and loyal staff.

I wish Anthony well as he pursues his family and business interests.

I look forward to stepping up to the responsibility of being your chair.

Craig Perkins

Chairman
